Underøath will rock your world. Metalcore bands don’t get much bigger than these guys, and Christian bands never get this big in the UK (unless you remember Stryper’s glory days). I’ll keep the writing short and sweet for this post, and let the shots do the talking. Underøath move around a whole bunch, and it was almost more fun to watch them from the crowd than it was to shoot them. That’s how great they are live. Check out more shots below the cut!
Here’s a quick taster of my shots of Underøath at Leeds Met over the weekend. The show was an absolute blast to shoot, and I’m stoked about the rest of my shots from the night. Keep you eyes peeled for a full post soon!
Huddersfield isn’t known for it’s musical output on the whole. Indeed, Evile are something of an anomaly as the only name band I can think of to emerge from West Riding’s dark clutches. Geography aside, however, Evile are also notable for being leaders of the thrash revival that’s swept the world over the last few years. Full of energy and determined to have fun, they brought the spirit of the 80s along with them on their recent visit to Leeds Rios. Plenty of shots to see below the cut!
Having already ripped Leeds Academy up on Monday, Machine Head were back up North on Friday, giving Manchester Apollo a lesson in thrash, Oakland style. Check out how it went down under the cut!
When the Black Procession tour came through Leeds last week, I was stoked to be shooting for Bleeding Through again. Last time around, I was still new to this game, and my shots reflect that. With nine months since passed, I was determined to do them justice on this second visit. Thankfully, Bleeding Through are dynamite on stage, and utterly tore Leeds apart – a delight for any photographer! Playing like they were headlining Wembley, they whipped through 40 minutes of relentless metalcore, leaving the crowd nursing their wounds before Hatebreed and Machine Head even took to the stage. Check out more shots below the cut!
Taking to the stage like triumphant warriors, Machine Head came, saw and annihilated Leeds Academy last week. Coming to the end of the touring cycle for the utterly crushing ‘The Blackening’, the boys from the Head were in fine form and high spirits, no doubt buoyed by the slew of awards they’ve garnered over the last couple of years. Coming up to their 20th anniversary as a band, and well settled into their strongest ever lineup, these Bay Area monsters are showing no signs of letting up. Check out more shots below the cut!
