
Friday night, I got the chance to shoot legendary blackened grind kings Anaal Nathrakh at The Well in Leeds. Here’s a quick preview of what ended up being quite a tough shoot. The full set will be posted later this week.

A few months ago, I got the chance to shoot Maxïmo Park’s show at the Leeds O2 Academy. It was my second time shooting in that venue, and it was, at the time, the biggest show I’d shot. I was very aware of the 2,000-strong crowd behind me!

A few moths ago, I had the chance to shoot the entirety of the inaugural UK Deathfest at Leeds University. There were a bunch of bands throughout the day, spread over two stages, and it was a blast to shoot. One of the main stage bands that appeared that day was the UK’s The Rotted.

I shot metalcore bruisers Bleeding Through a few months ago, before leaving for a Summer in the States. They were co-headlining the “Thrash ‘n Burn” tour with Darkest Hour, and in Leeds, it was their turn to take to the stage last. I grabbed my camera and took the opportunity to get some shots.

Last weekend was Bingley Music Festival, and I was able to pop along on the Friday night for a free preview of what the rest of the weekend held. Friday’s event marked the return of British rock/pop band Toploader, whom I had the pleasure of shooting. Here’s a quick preview of the photos from that evening, with a full post to come soon.

The second band I shot at the Thomas & Mack Arena was Blindside, on their first visit to the States for a few years. The Swedish post-hardcore were rapturously received by the 18,000-strong crowd, and the band paid back such enthusiasm with an explosive set.

Formerly of alternative/nu-metal superstars Korn, Brian “Head” Welch is now forging his own path, having found faith and left the band he helped bring to international fame. His new direction is stylistically similar to Korn, but lyrically very different, with his songs primarily themed around his Christian faith. Head was one of the featured bands at the Exit show at the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas.
